Responsible Conduct and Guidelines for Unethical Behaviour

The club is committed to ensuring the well-being of its gymnasts and staff. There is zero tolerance for any form of harassment, bullying, or other activities that challenge well-being.

Ethical conduct is overseen by the club’s board, which can be contacted regarding any observed misconduct or concerns. Board members handle matters confidentially and have authority over internal club affairs. In other cases, the board or designated individuals can provide guidance and support. Any potential criminal matters will be reported to the authorities.

The club director is responsible for the club’s responsibility efforts.

Serious but internally manageable ethical violations can be reported directly to the club’s board.
More severe violations should be reported to the Suek Ilmo reporting service.

For concerns regarding inappropriate behavior, please contact info@espoontelinetaiturit.fi or 010 201 2300. In urgent situations requiring immediate action, contact the club director, recreational program manager, or competition coordinator.

Safe Training Environment

At the heart of safe training are Children’s Rights, as defined by UNICEF. All club coaches and instructors receive training according to the Gymnastics Federation’s competence development program.

We ensure body autonomy within the sport’s specific needs. Safe gymnastics training may require physical contact between the coach/instructor and the gymnast, for example, to assist movements or ensure safety. Training in safe assistance techniques is part of the educational pathway and is reinforced through specialized assistance training.

Guidelines for Addressing Disruptive Behaviour

EsTT is committed to providing a safe and disturbance-free environment for all gymnasts.
However, situations may arise where one or more children disrupt activities, bully others, or create unrest or safety risks.

  • The primary approach to resolve issues is through discussion
  • If needed, the child/children may be temporarily removed from the activity to calm down
  • Immediate intervention is taken for safety risks to prevent dangerous situations
  • Parents are contacted if the behavior is repetitive or serious
  • A personal support person is required if a child needs constant support during sessions to allow others to train in a safe and peaceful environment. This person can be a parent, an external individual, or an additional instructor provided by the club. The guardian is responsible for any costs related to the support person.
  • As a last resort, participation may be suspended for a fixed period. In such cases, the season fee will be refunded based on the number of missed sessions. The coordinator
will request bank details from the customer for the refund process.
  • All communication with the family is handled by the coordinator
  • Contact information: info@espoontelinetaiturit.fi or 010 201 2300.

EsTT’s Handling Process

EsTT’s Responsibility Program

Good Governance

Gymnastics operations must adhere to good governance principles: transparency, openness, and member involvement. Our club is a Star Club recognized by the Finnish Olympic Committee and follows best governance practices. We involve our members in event planning and execution and actively collect feedback to shape our activities. We comply with all relevant laws and regulations, and our club director is responsible for sustainability and ethical compliance.

A Safe Training Environment

A safe training environment is a fundamental right that ensures psychological, social, and physical safety. Our training and competition facilities must be secure. Clear operational procedures and responding to concerns create a safe and positive environment. Before employment, we check the criminal records of individuals working with children. Employees receive training on Children’s Rights and ethical principles. Any concerns are addressed and resolved. Our training conditions and gym culture promote safety.

Equality and Non-Discrimination

We strive to make gymnastics accessible to all individuals, promoting equality in sports and physical activities. Within our gymnastics community, every person is valued as they are. We provide training pathways tailored to each individual’s abilities and motivation. We communicate coaching guidelines and agree on any changes together with gymnasts and guardians.

Anti-Doping

EsTT, in collaboration with the Gymnastics Federation, promotes clean sports, ensuring that all members have the right to fair and equal sports. Fair and clean sports are built on respect. An athlete who competes cleanly respects both other athletes and the rules, while also prioritizing their own well-being. Only clean sports are allowed in our club. Competitive coaches and gymnasts regularly complete the “Cleanly Best” (Puhtaasti paras) online course and operate in accordance with it. The club’s anti-doping officer is Iiris Nevalampi.

Environment and Climate

We take responsibility for the environment and climate by considering sustainable development in all our activities. We encourage local physical activity, pay attention to material culture, and account for the environmental impact of events and competitions. We encourage biking, walking, and shared transportation in our activities. We facilitate clothing recycling and prioritize local area competitions in our competition activities.
